If you are ever in Concord, NC there is a Great Wolf Lodge Hotel with an indoor waterpark. We stayed there for a couple of nights for our son’s birthday. They gave the kids wolf ears upon check-in which the kids enjoy and wore the entire time that we were there.
The rooms were nicely decorated to look like a lodge hotel. For a little more money, you can purchase a more themed room with bunk beds, etc. The two queen beds in our room were just fine for us. It is bigger than the normal hotel rooms.
The waterpark was awesome! There were quite a few water slides and they were all fun to go on. The wave pool was popular with the kids as they enjoyed jumping the waves. The Lotsa Water Dump Zone was a fun play area with a huge water bucket dumping tons of water every few minutes. Big foot pass was like an obstacle course trying to cross the water with ropes and stump like pads.
The biggest water slides were the Alberta Falls, Howlin Tornado, River Canyon Run and Mountain Edge Raceway. It’s worth the time to try all of the waterslides. We went on a non-peak time so there were no lines or very little and it was easy to keep going again and again.
They had other activities available for the kids aside from the waterpark like story telling, face painting, etc. But a lot of the extra activities do cost extra money. Some probably worth doing more than others.
At the end, leaving was hard for the kids. Our two nights were not long enough for them and they wished and wished that we could stay longer while crying and begging us to go back there soon. I guess they had a lot more fun than we though.
